Honey Matcha Hot Chocolate

Honey Matcha Hot Chocolate

Melted white bliss in a cute little cup.

Nothing makes the holidays more perfect than a cup of hot cocoa. There's something about the nostalgia of it that just makes it as blissful of an experience as it is.

Let's not forget about the joy of marshmallows too! I like my marshmallows a bit toastier than most people – I just love the stark contrast between the gooey, sweet, fluffy marshmallow, and the crispy and toasty flavor on the other side.

Hot chocolate has to be one of my favorite holiday go-to drinks. That and apple cider (is this a hint for a future recipe? Who's to say!). They carry so much flavor, and I feel as though I can slip back into being a young child again where I can put on a hat and a scarf and play in the snow for hours. Oh How Civilized blog makes the best version of them. You'll see!

Honey Matcha Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 2 Tsp. Matcha
  • 1 Cup milk of your choice
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 4 Oz white chocolate bar
  • 1 Tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 Tsp. sea salt
  • Mini marshmallows for serving, toasted if desired

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350*.
  2. Add foil to a baking tray, then place marshmallows on pan to toast while making the hot cocoa.
  3. Combine milk, honey, white chocolate, matcha, and salt together in a saucepan over medium – high heat and stir until chocolate is melted and the mixture is hot.
  4. Turn off the heat and add vanilla extract. Serve immediately with toasted marshmallows.

Notes

Sweet and earthy with a slight hint of toastiness couldn't make for a more delightful drink in my opinion!Recipe developed by Oh How Civilized blog.
